My Tokyo Trip And Haul

Hi, everyone. Recently I went to Tokyo for my yearly family trip. It's my second time to travel to Japan. And I love every trip. It's a tiring and fun one. We walked alot as usual, clocking in at least 16000 steps every day.

We went to Nikko, Mt Takao, Hakone, Kamakura, Kawagoe and of course Tokyo city. The autumn foliage is so nice. Done lots of sightseeing and shopping. Think I bought double the quantity compared to last year's trip.

Here's my haul:

I really spend alot this trip but all are happy buy!!!!!

Bought 2 bags, Hello Kitty and Sumikko Gurashi. A few character fabrics, inkpads, pens, refills, eraser and refills, post it notes, files etc. Also bought My Melody carrier from Japan's Mcdonalds. One of my fav buy!!

This is the My Melody's carrier. Plan to use to store my stationeries. So cute!! Heard that its coming to Singapore Mcdonalds on 6 Dec. Oh well... at least I no need to queue very long to get it. Yup... in Singapore anything related to Hello Kitty will turn into a craze and long long queue.. even overnight queue.

Bought quite abit of Hello Kitty stuff too. How to resist the cuteness!! Also bought 2 Sumikko Gurashi stamps. Love!!

Am a Sailormoon fan tho not a fanatic one. This is my first Sailormoon purchase after many years. There are many stuff I want but I couldn't find. Sob.. I bought a lip color and blush powder set, 1 washi cutter, some washis, folders, keychains and a plush keychain.

What's a trip to Japan without buying Traveler notebook stuff. Visited Tokyo Station outlet again and also to Narita Airport outlet. Bought the limited edition stuff. The carrier is a free gift from Tokyo Station outlet.

Bought some cute socks too. The ninja one is for my boy and the other pair for my girl.

These socks are shared with my girl. How adorable they are.

We visited the Gundam Cafe at Akihabara. And I got this Gundam gashapon robot. Happy!!

To conclude, we love Japan. Hope to go again in future trips tho not so soon.

Hope you like my sharing. Thanks for dropping by.

Travel planner "kit"

Hi. Everyone. How have you been? I'm "busy" preparing and researching for my upcoming Japan trip. Can't wait!! So today I want to share with you what is inside my travel planner kit.

This is my 2nd time to Japan. So I sort of know what to expect n what to bring. I'm packing most stuff in a pink storage bag to check in (as I'm bringing a tiny pair of scissors). For my traveler notebook I will put inside this green sling bag that I bought in Japan in my first trip. Love it so much. And its cheaper than in Singapore. Happy buy!

Here's what I brought:

1) Traveler notebook. I prepared a blank insert just for recording my day to day in Japan. And I carried my notebook with me everywhere I go. The rest of stuff I just put at my accomodation for me to finish journal and deco at night.

2) Sticker book with washi inside. I did bring afew rolls of washi (Japan themed) but I wanted more choices so I stick them in the sticker book. Thanks to my friend, Aiyen, who gave me this sticker book. I also brought my washi tape cutter. This is optional since I brought my scissors with me.

3) Stamps. I brought 3 stamps with me this time. One from traveler notebook shop in last trip n 2 roller words stamps (travel themed).

4) A mini pair of scissors. I love this scissors as its v tiny n cute. The blade slides down the handle and become hidden. Its really compact to carry with.

5) A small set of color pencils. This is really useful as I do draw some simple pictures like food I ate, places I been to. This set is small enough to put inside a zippered folder in my traveler notebook. And it comes with a small eraser amd a tiny sharpener. V useful.

6) Pens, mini pencil and highlighters. Essential for journaling.

7) Glue tape. This is really essential if you plan to tape down receipts, postcards & tickets etc. You can also use washi to tape down but I still find using tape glue is better.

8) Correction tape. Ok. I'm abit paranoid when come to journaling mistake. So a correction tape is important.

9)Inkpads. Ok. Of course I have to bring inkpads if I'm bringing stamps. Ha ha. But even if you don't bring stamps inkpads are equally essential. I like to collect stamped images in my travel. And in Japan theres alot of places like in subways, places of attractions that have stamps available for you to collect the images. And sometimes the inkpad they provide is dried up so its important to have one on hand.

This trip, my to buy list is long. Stationery is of course a must buy. I plan to visit Loft and Tokyu Hands and probably Sekaido. Second thing I want is Sailor moon stuff. I'm a fan but not the super crazy type. Lol. But I had no idea what came over me these few days. Probably due to the many youtube videos I watched. Gosh. Now I want Sailormoon pens, pencils, keychains, tshirts, bags and even figures. Hope I can find. Fingers crossed.

Ok. Thats all for my sharing. Hope you enjoy it. Have fun crafting.

Recycled Theme Project

Hi, everyone. This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, we are having a recycle moodboard challenge. Use something you recycled in your project. Love the moodboard colors.

And I made a mixed media canvas, recycling an old spoilt watch, 2 strips of leftover wood from a previous dollhouse project and 3 brushes.

"Grow"

I created the background texture  by spreading texture paste over a stencil, stamped some words stamps randomly across page.

I covered the wood strips, chipboard frames, clock, brushes and watch with a coat of watered down gesso. Then misted over them with teal and bronze sprays. And adhered the flowers, wood veneers and added tiny crystal flats over the page.

OTRS Aug Moodboard Challenge

Hi, everyone. This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, we are having a Tribal moodboard challenge. You can use the colors, theme and images as inspirations for your project.

Here's what I created:

"Remember When"

"Remember When" Mixed Media Canvas

When I thought of Tribal, hathernware came to my mind. So I created the background of the canvas into hathernware design using texture paste and Prima rust paste and acrylic paint.

"Remember When" Mixed Media Canvas

Painted the chipboards with acrylic paints.

Hi, everyone. Welcome back to my blog. This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking we are having a fun moodboard challenge.

I made 2 cards with this moodboard. Created 2 mermaid themes cards.

Mermaid themed Cards

I watercolor the background with Winsor and Newton watercolor palette. Flicked some white spots with white mist. Stamped and pieced together the mermaid, plants and fishes.

Hi, everyone. This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, I made a mixed media canvas with the monthly challenge moodboard.

April Moodboard - OTRS

Hi, everyone. This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, we are having a Color Bombing Moodboard Challenge.

And here's my take on the challenge:

"Color Bombing" Cards

"Color Bombing" Cards

I made 4 cards with as many colors as I can incorporate.

"Miss You, Friend" Card

Made this "Miss You, Friend" card for a school friend that I haven't met up for quite awhile. Hope she will like it. The blue flower is made by me using punches and adding colors with markers.

"Happy Birthday" Card

This is a shaker card. The whole card is diecut with Papertrey Ink dies. The banner is diecut from Lawn Fawn dies.

"Happy Birthday" Card

The "Happy Birthday" word is embossed with a embossing folder. I also brushed wink of stellar clear glitter over the words to make it "bling". Pop up the diecut frame with foam tape.

"Happy Birthday" Card

This is another card that I made for another friend who just celebrated her birthday. I love to layer my projects so for this card, I layer afew layers with foam tape to make them "pop".

For this month, I'm also sponsoring one prize for the challenge.

So do hop over to Off The Rails Scrapbooking and join us in our moodboard challenge. Have fun.
