Prima Girl Tags

Hi, everyone. Today I want to share 3 Prima Girl Tags that I made for Off The Rails Scrapbooking DT.

"Prima Girl Tags"

Prima Girl Tags

I diecut the 3 Prima girls on black cardstock. Wanted a black silhouette look. Look how they stand out amist the colors. Accessoried the girls with diecut clothes, charms, half pearls etc. Love how easily the rest of elements are put together with pre-diecut doilies, Prima tags, Prima journaling cards, laces, flowers and ephemera.

So I tell myself that I need to at least use them once. LOL. Hence I'm trying to focus on at least one type of supplies each month. This month is dies!!!

That's about all. Do hop over to Off The Rails Scrapbooking to see what my fellow team mates had done and also join us in our monthly mood board challenge. Have fun.

Imaginarium Designs - Tags & Cards

Hi, everyone. This month at Imaginarium Designs, our theme is creating tags and cards. And I made this tag for my hubby as Valentine's Day gift.

"My Sweetheart" Tag

For the chipboard tag, I painted both sides with light grey acrylic paint, stamp background swirls with ink and distressed the sides with distress ink. Then I layered a smaller piece of patterned paper using chipboard negatives to make full of scraps.

For the chipboard "Kate Doily", I painted it brown then add brown glitter glue. I cut this doily into half and adhered slightly behind the patterned paper. Done the same with the Prima flower and added the flower centre. Love the peekaboo look.

For the chipboard "Denises George", I painted it with yellow ochre paint and added clear glitter glue. Added Prima flowers to the centre. And I positioned the chipboard in a way that it looks like a double heart. Also added Pink Paislee ephemera.

For the chipboard butterfly, I painted it white and added clear glitter glue. Love how it sparkle. I folded the wings up slightly before adhere down to give it a more 3 dimensional effect. Lastly I added half pearls randomly across the tag.

For the back of the tag, I done the background the same way as the front. Added some stickers for the wordings and flowers. The chipboard clock is also painted white with clear glitter glue. Then I adhered 2 Prima flowers on it.

I hope you enjoy the walk through of how I do this tag. Do hop over to Imaginarium Designs to have a look at my fellow team members' projects. Have fun.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Love+Heart

Hi, friends. February is a month of celebration and love!!! First, there's Chinese New Year, followed by Valentine's Day. Here at Frosted Designs, we are challenging you to use the word "Love" + at least one Heart on your projects.

Take note that there's a change at Frosted Designs. Instead of having a weekly challenge, we are moving into  2 challenges per month, meaning you have 2 weeks to complete your challenge.

And here's my take:

"Love" Tag

For this tag, I used Sizzix, My Favourite Things dies and embossing folder. The Chevron ribbon is a gift from a dear friend.

So how do you plan to celebrate Valentine's Day?? For me, I planned with hubby to go to my current favourite tart shop, "Fruit Paradise" to eat their delicious tarts!!! Been craving for it for weeks!!!

Well, I hope you like my project. Will be quite busy for the next coming week as Chinese New Year is just next weekend. So I might disappear for a while. Busy busy visiting friends and relatives!!!

But let's not stop crafting!!! I hope to finish up one of my acrylic painting soon. Will update here once I get it done. Do join us at Frosted Designs for this fun challenge.

Thanks for dropping by.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Office Supplies

Hi, everyone. How's your week again?? I know I ask this question every time. Ha ha.. Oh, by the way, want to mention something. Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving beautiful comments. Sorry that I'm unable to reply each and every one even though I wanted to do so. Too busy with being a wife, mum, daughter, crafter, blogger (hmmm... me consider as this??), "designer", teacher (to my kids) and maid (to my kids too, ha ha). Plus had quite a trying month. Very stressed out and overworked this month. Wanted to have a good rest next month. :)

Ok. Enough rambling about me. This week at Frosted Designs, we are challenging you to use office or school supplies in your projects. And I made a "Junk Journal"!!! It's my first "Junk Journal" and I love it!!! Thanks to my scrappy friend, Daolin who organised a junk journal swap and introduce this new addiction to us!!!

I made this "Junk Journal" with recycled, used envelope (that was sent to me,hence got my name there) as the cover of the album. Inside are paper scraps, product packagings, old notecards that I bought many years ago (Egypt themed). Made "pockets" for "junk tags" too!!! For the office/school supplies, I used paper clips of different sizes and designs, staplers, book rings.

I loved, loved the front cover. I cut a cardboard envelope into half as front and back covers. They double as pockets for more junk tags. The denim (belt area) was cut out from my old jeans that I can't fit in anymore (yap, I've put on weight!!!!). It looks gorgeous (to me) and also doubles as a holder to clip my pen (just like a smash journal). Woo hooo!!!! No more missing pen whenever I want to journal!! I made the flower using corrugated board(another "junk"). The burlap is leftover from previous projects.

I loved this second page too!!! Made a pocket for more journalling tags. I recycled the Prima packaging to make into tags. They are so lovely!!! The Webster's Page (small piece with some words) scrap is just perfect as it says "its a beautiful life" (only know how to read the bottom part, ha ha).

Here you can see the Egypt themed notecards!!! I'm abit crazy over Egypt since secondary school times and still is till now!!! I want to go Egypt one day to travel around this mysterious, gorgeous land!!! So I got a craze of collecting Egypt related stuff!!! These notecards open up to more space for journalling!!!

More Prima product packaging!!! I loved them as they are too pretty and it's such a waste to throw them away!! Now I found a better use for them: as mini clipboard. Here I clip a small transparent tag with  a teal paper clips. The denim piece from my jeans is also used to tie the tag!!

I made a translucent pocket with this recycled glassine gift bag for bigger tags.

In this picture, I used pages torn out from second hand novel (that I used as my art journal) as the background page for more journalling or photos (??). More Prima product packaging here too.

For this last page, I also made pocket from paper scraps and Prima product packaging tags again. I used paper clips to prevent the tags in the envelope "pocket" from falling out.

For this back cover, I used the label cut out from my jeans (same one) as the "label" of my journal!!! Love the old, tattered, worn out look of it. It added a softer and vintage look to this "Junk Journal". Loved, loved my journal!!!!

I hope you feel excited to make your own "Junk Journal" after seeing mine!!! So, go try it out. It's very addictive and satisfying (especially when you are using up your scraps)!! And do join in our challenge at Frosted Designs. Thank you for your time in reading this long post!!!

Have fun creating!!!

Party Tags!!!

Hi, friends!! Today I want to share 2 tags that I made for scrap parties organised by my friend, Elaine. One is for a past party and one for today's party. Love the scrap parties. Thanks to Elaine who organised them that I met up and made friends with alot of scrappy friends. A common passion, a common hobby!!! So fun!!

For the party, we must make a tag to hang around the neck. The tag we make is not for our own but we need to draw one from others. After we got the tag, we put our name tag on it (kindly made by Elaine). So fun!!

Here's my first tag for the first party (past):

Shabby Chic tag: front
 Shabby chic tag: back

And for the second tag for today's party, I experimented with Tattered Angels stained glass medium on acrylic. Sprayed some Dylusions spray inks on the flower clusters too. But might have gone overboard with them. ha ha..

Loved the TA stained glass medium. And of course love the parties!!! Had a chit chat session, crafting session, photography tips session and of course, "makan" (eating) session!!! A group of women chatting is just like a market!!!! ha ha... But oh such fun!!! Look forward to next party!!

Thanks for visiting!!

Published!!!!

Hello, friends. I'm so happy today. I received a happy mail from Paper Crafts Magazine!!!!

And my published work is on page 55:

It's my first publication!!!!! So happy!!! So thankful!!! Praise God for His provision and His creative gene!! All above except the pencil holder are my works. It's a very simple project using washi tapes from Made With Love. But the strange thing is: it's written in the supplies list as from American Crafts but I wrote from Made With Love. Hmmm... anyway, I just feel very happy and honoured to be chosen. Thanks, Paper Crafts Magazine.

Another view of my work:
Here you can see that I also label the pencil box with stickers. And I made a set of 3 cards and 3 bookmarks.

Hope you will be encouraged to submit your projects too to Paper Crafts Magazine.Their call for January/February 2013 Call For Submissions is open. Do hop over and join in.

Have a great day. Thanks for visiting my blog.
