Stencils is one of my got-to-have tool whenever I do a project. So yes... I got more than 160 stencils in my collection and 90% of them are already used. There's just so many ways you can use them for.
My top most favourite way of using them is spreading texture paste, gesso etc mediums over them to create the background.
(Done with 3 stencils, Fairy with texture paste and the rest gesso)
(The pavement is done with spreading modeling paste over stencil)
(Brick wall done with stencil and texture paste)
My second favourite way is to use chalk inks over the stencils.
(Background rays done with stencil and white chalk ink)
(white chalk ink with wheel stencil)
(Use pastel blue ink over forest stencil and texture paste over small dots stencil)
Another way is to mist over the stencils.
I also love to mix acylic paints with texture paste and spread over the stencils.
(The flowers done with the paint and texture paste mixture over stencil)
(Green plants done same method)
(Sun done same way)
I also used Tim Holtz distress inks over the stencils. Sometimes I sprinkle some water over the distress ink to create the resist effect.
(Top ATC using distress ink and bottom ATC, I drew out from stencil and also stitch one camera)
There's so many ways and projects that you can create with stencils. That's why my stencil collection grew and is still growing. Simply a cannot do without tool.
Hope you are inspired by my sharing. Go grab some stencils!!!!
Thanks for dropping by.
