My Little Shoebox & Want 2 Scrap Swap

Hi, everyone. We've teamed up with Want 2 Scrap to bring you some inspiration all this week with the collaboration of My Little Shoebox collections and products from Want 2 Scrap.

I'm so excited to share my project with you today. I loved the chipboard shapes and blings from Want 2 Scrap. They combine well with My Little Shoebox papers. Here's what I have created with them:

Inspired by my girl's ballet lesson, I made a hanging sign for her. I love this photo of her even though its not bright enough (lightings at her ballet classroom are quite dim). And well, she love pink. I love vintage. So I combined both using The Vintage Shop paper collection from My Little Shoebox.

For this sign, I covered the chipboard shape with MLS paper and glued it to an acrylic sheet. I pasted another paper behind the acrylic sheet. And I added the beautiful corner blings. Its perfect!! The acrylic sheet make this whole sign look less heavy on top.

Loved the corrugated board swirls from Want 2 Scrap. I used them to frame the photo of my girl. And I adhered the MLS rolled flower at the bottom to make it look like my girl is standing on it.

When I received this "body parts" chipboards, I had no idea how to use them. After attending my girl's ballet school open house that very night, I got inspired to make a ballerina. I used MLS paper for the top and the MLS trim for the skirt. I used Faber Castell Gelatoes to color the chipboards and added hair using brown cardstock. I loved it.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Paints/Mists/Inks

Hello to all. Thanks for dropping by. This week at Frosted Designs, we are challenging you to use paints, inks and/or mists in your projects.

For this challenge, I made these 4 by 4 inches canvases for my friends who came to my house to make flowers together.

"Friends Are Like Flowers" Canvas

I painted the canvas with acrylic paints, "drew" the tiny flowers with Faber Castell Big Brush Pen(Indian Ink) and Tim Holtz White Distress Marker.

Then I adhered the handmade flowers. These flowers are made during a "flower-making" session with my friends at my house. I really appreciate their friendship and decided to make these canvas for them. All the flowers are punched out, colored and layered from scratch. Love them!!!

I hope you love the project. Do hop over to Frosted Designs to join in the fun and win a prize. And keep a lookout for the November Blog Hop at Frosted Designs on 9, 10, 11 Nov. See you!!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Wild

Hello, everyone. How have you been?? My schedule has been quite hectic of late with my hubby recent business trip to UK and long working hours, hence a very busy mummy rushing here and there. At some days, I only managed to spend an hour at home before I'm out of the house again. Well, not to bore you all down. Here's the fun part:

This week at Frosted Designs, we welcome you to join us in the "Wild" challenge. Woo.... Wild!!! That's such a interesting theme. I did struggle a bit with it. And finally I decided to do this cutesy wild card.

This is such a easy card and I completed it within 5 mins. I just got this stripes paper from my dear friend, Karen and the panda and sentiment chipboard stickers from another dear friend, Elaine some time back. These really come in handy in this challenge. I mat the stripe paper with a dark brown cardstock to make it look like polaroid picture.

This card also comes at a good timing. My country, Singapore just welcome 2 panda cubs, Jia Jia and Kai Kai from China. So look forward to seeing them at Singapore Zoological Gardens by end of this year!!

Now its your turn to join in the fun!! Do hop over to Frosted Designs to join us in the challenge. Have fun!!

Thanks for visiting.

The bear card was taught by my dear friend, Elaine.I added the fake, movable eyes (don't know what you call this) as I don't have small circle punches. I used the same shape to do the butterfly. Btw, its a heart shape die.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have some fun with your kids in crafting too.

Oh Deer!! In The Woods

Hi, friends!! Thanks for dropping by. It had been a busy month in Sept. A lot of crafting done. But still a lot undone in my "to do" list!!

For My Little Shoebox's DT Sept assignment, I made 2 cards and a project using the "Oh Deer!" collection. I love this paper collection!! The deers, the mushrooms are so so cute!!!

"My Deer Friend" Postcard Card

For this card, I layered a few papers and popped up the journaling tag. I cut out the "stamps" from the paper and stamped over them with Purple Onions postal stamp. My hubby is a stamp collector hence I also affected by him. So I'm always on the lookout for "postal stamps" stuff.

I made this card for a dear friend of mine. She loves postal related scrapbook stuff as well. I hope she like this card.

"I Wood Like To Say" Card

I love wood grain paper. When I saw this paper, I simply had to make a tree trunk card.I popped up the journalling tag sticker to make it look like a "sign". I layered and popped up the leaves and acorn stickers to make them look like they are part of the tree.

I also decorated the inside of the card with journalling tag and stickers. Made this card for my hubby. We celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary on 11 Sept. Yap, its 11 Sept!!

"Oh Deer! My Mushroom Dollhouse"

I always love dollhouses. So when I saw this paper collection, the idea of making a mushroom dollhouse for my girl formed naturally. My girl has been asking me to make a dollhouse for her.

And to make it a more stable and stronger dollhouse, I went to my local craft store and grabbed some basswood, foam board and the foam dome. I sawed the wood, adhered the papers and sanded down for the walls and floors. It was a tough job to saw with a mini saw, especially when I sawed them indoor at my master bedroom floor. After gluing the wood pieces with wood glue, I nailed them together. This was a fun but tiring project. My arms were sore after that.

I painted the "mushroom head" with acrylic paint and adhered the punched circles with multi medium. I used the journalling tags as the "carpets". The furnitures are from my and my girl's toy collection. I made the 2 deers stand with MLS stickers and chipboard. They are the "owners" of this dollhouse.

For the sides of the dollhouse, I also adhered some trees and mushroom stickers. Love the wood grain paper!!!! It really give the mushroom doll house a woodsy feeling!!

I made a photo frame (cant see well from here) on the wall of one of the deers.

These are the 2 "owners" of the dollhouse. Aren't they adorable??

I pasted MLS paper unto the round wood and glued wooden spools as the legs. Also sand down the paper. I made bowls out of the leaves diecut and adhered the acorn stickers unto chipboard as the food.

This small, simple corner garden was made using the 3D roll up flowers and pots of mulberry flowers. I diecut the lamp post with Sizzix die. Popped up the grasses and mushrooms with mega 3D foam dots.

My girl loved this dollhouse. So am I!! After seeing my project, my hubby asked me why I didn't join in the construction industry (he's a civil engineer). Ha ha..

Thats all for today. I hope you are inspired by my projects. Do hop over to My Little Shoebox
Have a fun week. And do drop by and leave a comment to win my 3rd Blog Candy
