In the meantime, I'm going to share some projects that I guided my brother, Austin to do for his Polytechnic design assignments. Over the past 2 days, I gave him a "crash course" on scrapbooking and mixed media art. Its fun and tiring!! ha ha.. Oh, by the way, all the pictures below are taken by my brother.
Here's the 5 projects that he had done, according to his theme of "vintage and/or retro":
1) "Journey" Layout
He wanted to make a layout without photo to illustrate journey. Well, the journey need not be to London (this is just an example). He always wanted to go travel and study overseas. Hence the twine is twined around the word, "Journey"!! The Singapore and London Silhouette is cut using Silhouette Cameo.
2) "Splash" Layout
Love this photo that He took for his photography project (I think). He saw a small boy playing with water and he took a few shots of him. Love the angle of this photo.
3) "Key" Bookmark (I forgot what he named this piece)
He wanted to make the inverted key as the focus. The frame is die-cut using Sizzix die. Note the crackle effect of the Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint in the second picture.
Don't you just love this camera!!! I love it. I might make one for myself. Ha ha....
5) "Peonies" Canvas
This is my favourite of all the projects that my brother made. I think he feels the same too.. I admire his choice of bright retro colours. Lovely!!! Hmm... I think I have made a mixed media artist out of him!! Ha ha.. Loved the texture of the fiber paste and glass bead gel.
After two days of guidance and a busy past week, I wanted to paint just for fun!!!!! So miss my painting and my art journalling!!! Hope I can squeeze in time to art journal and create my own version of the Peonies Canvas. Think I would go for other colors!!! Ha ha..
Well, that's all for today. Do come back on Friday for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge. See you.
Thanks for dropping by.
