Latest Craze: Amigurumi

Good day to all. Today I want to share about my latest craze!! Well, of course, its to do with crafts. This year I fell in love with another crafts: Crochet Amigurumi!! Thanks to my crochet teacher who happens to be a "famous crafter" too, Waisam Ho. She taught me how to crochet amigurumi and I'm totally hooked!!

This Pom Pom Purin was taught in her class. Its so so fun!! And my cute boy call it "Teapot Rabbit". lol lol.. reason being that the hat looks like teapot lid. Oh gosh...

Pom pom purin

And you can see I crochet quite abit after this Pom Pom Purin. I will be sharing more of my crochet projects to come.

After knowing the basics of crocheting, I googled like a mad woman for free patterns!! And kept crocheting and crocheting. And I can crochet whole day, bringing it with me while I bring my kids for their enrichment programs and tuitions.

The natural thing after this Pom Pom Purin is to crochet my fav owls!! They are so so easy and fast to do!!

Mini Owls Amigurumi

I made ribbon bows too to add to the owls.

Isn't it adorable?? I made more of these and gave some to my friends too.

Its actually quite easy to crochet. Youtube got lots of videos on it too. And its so so fun!!!

Thats all for today. Will share more of my crochet projects to come.

"Our Little Boy" mixed media layout

Hi hi. June school holidays are almost over. Would miss the times spent with my kids. After our Church Camp cum holiday at Kuala Lumpur, almost everyday is crafting time with my kids. We spent the days rainbow looming, painting, clay making, playing board games and so on. My resolution this year for holidays is to be able to craft and spend time with my kids, along w at least one subject revision. Thus far, I think I'm doing good.

And I managed to spend the evening/night time crafting on my own. Here's one project I done and I used the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch blog and entered the challenge this month.

"Our Little Boy" Layout

"Our Little Boy" LO

Made this layout, documenting the time when my boy is just one year plus of age. Love his smile!!

I spread randomly across page with gesso. For the top part (where the forest are), I misted a stencil with Prima Bloom spray. Then with palette knife, I spread acrylic paints randomly at the bottom, added gauze, joint tape, more paints and spread texture paste over a stencil again.

I have always wanted to do more clean look kind of mixed media layout, along with cute elements for my kids. So glad that I managed to pull it together.

I inked the chipboard and painted abit with Shimmerz Paints TextureZ Patina.

I used Simple Stories stickers and chipboard stickers for the cute elements. Love the boat and how it seems to be floating on the "waters".

For the challenge at Once Upon A Sketch, I need to include journalling. I had this sentence out here and more hidden journalling in a tag behind the photo.

I hope you enjoy my project. Hope you be inspired.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a fun week.

"Up, Up & Away" Challenge at Off The Rails Scrapbooking

Hi, I just came back from a week's church camp cum holiday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its a fun and fulfilling church camp. Thanks to all the young adults who make the camp a fun one. & we also enjoyed ourselves at Kidzania, a themed park for kids. My kids love it so so much. I think we are going to plan another trip down again. :) I strongly recommend this theme park, Kidzania if anyone is going to Kuala Lumpur for a holiday. We bought some photos taken by professional photographers there. So ya... going to scrap about them.

Today at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, we are challenging you to make a project with the theme "Up, Up & Away". It can be anything related to it like balloons, butterfly, birds, airplane etc. I made a layout of our Sydney's trip a couple years ago. Its my kids' first airplane ride.

Up Up n Away

I used my newly bought vintage typewriter to type the words on the white cardstock as background details, scribbled some words and ink the background abit. Used Simple Stories papers for this layout. Love Simple Stories paper collection. For the arrows at the side, I punched the cardstock with Stamping Up punch and added papers behind. Its such a fast and simple layout with the use of Simple Stories stickers.

Up Up n Away

Look how excited and happy my kids are. Its their first airplane ride and our first ride on A380!!! And this plane is huge... There's a small empty space at the end of the plane where my kids love to go there and stretch themselves (the picture on the left). Plus there's a cookie counter there where I love to get some free cookies to munch on. hee... The seats are spacious and of course, it's movie marathon for me....

Up Up n Away

Well, holidays are always fun and exciting for me. I hope I can go travel again soon even though I just came back from a short one. Anyway, look forward to another short trip in September (our 10th wedding anniversary). For now, its back to reality!! Lol.

Well, I hope you are inspired to create and join in the challenge at Off The Rails Scrapbooking. Do hop over and join my blog candy here.

Thanks for visiting.

Wedding Shadow Boxes

Hi, friends. The past May 2014 is a busy yet joyous month for me. My brother got married at end of May. So I have been busy helping him make stuff for his wedding. Thoroughly enjoy it. :)

I have been so busy making the stuff that I forgot to take better and clearer pictures of them before his wedding. But here's some (not so good) pictures of them. :P

Wedding Shadow boxes

Wedding Shadow Boxes

Made these 2 shadow boxes as my wedding gifts for him. Hope he and his bride will love them.  Here you can see the undecorated birdcages that I got from a local shop, Daiso.

Wedding stuff

Made wedding red packet boxes for his guests to drop in their love gift. Made the box from scratch by using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out papers, then trace over thin and thick chipboards/cardboards and assemble together. Added pearls and crystal trim. Made the big flowers from scratch with Bazzil cardstocks and distress inks and flower punches.

Wedding stuff

The decorated birdcages in detail. Added diecut doilies at bottom so the flowers can be adhered down (the birdcage did not have solid base). Used Prima embellishment as the dangling part. The battery operated candle is perfect to add the final romantic touch. Now these birdcages are in my brother's room to add a feminine touch to it. :)

Love my brother. Pray that God will bless him and his bride as they walk hand in hand together towards their future ahead.

Thanks for dropping by. Have fun creating!!
