Monochromatic Challenge - OTRS

Hi, everyone. June holidays is finally here. Can't wait for the short holiday with my family next week. How do you plan to spend this June? For me, I had a lot of family catching up to do. Wish there's more time with my kids and hubby. And also my crafting projects to do....

This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, we are having a monochromatic theme challenge.

And we have 2 sponsors, Memory Maze and Imaginarium Designs.

Here's what I have made:

"Fairy Village" Shadow Box

"Fairy Village" Shadow Box

Using a Silhouette cut file that I created, I cut a forest shadow box frame with kraft cardstock. Added punched grass and stamped fairy houses and clouds. Used foam tape to pop up the houses. For the Imaginarium Designs chipboard corners, I inked with brown chalk ink and distress ink.

OTRS - "Believe In Yourself"

Hi, everyone. This month at Off The Rails Scrapbooking, we are playing with watercolors and a mood board.

"Watercolors"

And our sponsor this month is Memory Maze.

Here's what I have made:

"Believe In Yourself"

Made this wall decor piece. I sketch the flowers out and watercolor them on watercolor paper. Ink the sides with distress ink. Flicked some watercolors on it. Adhered to a chipboard base and a pattern paper. Then added Prima flowers, dome dots and half pearls. For the chipboard title I gesso it and added bronze glitter. Added glitter to the flowers too.

Doilies Love

Hi, everyone. It's my turn to share about my projects over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking. I love doilies and I decided to make 2 cards and a hanging ornament with diecut doilies. If you do not have any doilies dies, you can also use those doilies for baking.

Here's my projects:

"Congrats" Cards

Doilies Wedding Cards

"Pastel Doily Ornament"

Doily Hanging Ornament

Made this ornament for decorating my house for Chinese New Year that's coming on 9 February. Something very different from the normal red and gold decorations that Chinese love.

Do hop over to Off The Rails Scrapbooking to look at more pictures and details. I have also shared a tutorial over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking blog. Have fun.

Happy Chinese New Year to all who celebrate.

Thanks for dropping by.

Busy Busy

Hi everyone. Sorry for the long break in blogging. Been very very busy. With my art class. I started attending painting and sketching class. Its fun but kept me busy too. And surely this year is filled with sickness too. Been down with throat inflammation on and off the past few months. I just recovered from the last "attack". Doctor says its my allergy and sensitive nose that trigger my sinusitis and led to throat inflammation. Oh boy... I need to take more vegetables and fruits!!!! And pray hard that the haze from Indonesia forest fire won't come back again. A terrible haze!!! Triggered all my allergies and cause burning sensation in my nose!!!! Air pollution, please go away!!! Hee...

Enough ranting!! Today I want to share a project I made few months back. I love 3D projects. So I made 2 teapot sets, one for myself and one for my girl to play using Silhouette Cameo and SVG Cuts design.

"Vintage Teapot"

Vintage Teapot set

I used Pink Paislee paper collection for the teapot and cup. Love how vintage they are. Added Prima flowers and blings. This is such a pretty digital design file by SVG Cuts. Lovely, aren't they!!

Here's some close up:

I added some glitter onto the flowers to sparkle them up.  After seeing my finished project, my sweet girl requested to have a pink set for her. It took me some time to do another one for her. And I made a cupcake box for her as well. And I used her favourite fruit patterned paper, strawberry!!

Strawberry Tea Pot and cupcake

I didn't put any flowers or blings for her teapot set as I know she want it plain and functional so she can play together with her food toys. Well, after this, she requested for other food!!! Oh boy!!! ha ha.... I hope I can make a food stall for her soon. Just like what I saw at IKEA. I know I can simply buy the food stall but then its more fun to make one. Agree?? hee...

Well, thats it for today's post. I try to blog more often. Hope my followers will keep following me. hee... Do drop by and comment on my 5th blog candy post here to win some goodies.

Thanks for visiting.

I'm still here

Hi all, it seems like I disappear for a while. But me still here!!! Ha ha.. just that past 3 weeks are quite hectic for me. First, I got sick on Christmas day, then on New Year day, got a severe migraine attack that lasted for 2 weeks. Till today, I still get migraine every day. Mine is chronic daily migraine. But the attack on New Year day is really terrible.Vomited!!! Adding to that is my gal started her Primary One schooling. So for past 3 weeks, I didn't manage to scrap much. A lot of projects are piling up. My doodling album, my contribution of cards for the Make A Card For Needy Campaign, ATC swap etc.....

Pray that I can start "work" tomorrow. Looking forward to scrapping again!!!

Ten Chipboard Projects

I have been extremely busy this past week. Have been creating a lot of projects each and everyday. To a point that my most patient husband started to complain.. ha ha.. Anyway, wanted to share ten projects here featuring chipboards. Was hooked on chipboards ever since I won a pack of Imaginarium Designs chipboards from Once Upon A Sketch's challenge. Started buying chipboards from local crafts stores. And here's the ten projects:

1) "Our Song" chipboard album
Inked the chipboards with glimmer mist and painted the dressform chipboard with crackle paint. Also masked the pages with chipboard shapes and tattered angels and prima masks and misted with glimmer mists and distress inks.

2) "Snapshots" mini album
Created this album for my brother's long due birthday present. He wanted a distressed look. Inside the album are all bank pages for him to fill up with his photos. Misted the chipboards with glimmer mist.

3) "Carol" Canvas display
Love this piece!! Its for myself!! Misted the chipboard with glimmer mist.

4) "2012" Organiser
Made this organiser from scratch, combining monthly planner inserts(bought), blank pages and some scrapbook papers. Again misted the chipboards. For the 2 chipboard borders, also stamped and brushed with perfect pearls to create a metallic design. Love this organiser so much that I can't wait till 2012 to use. Love the bicycle chipboard. To a point my good friend try to search for similar one in Singapore but to no avail.

5)  "Chipboard Garden" photo frame display
Misted the chipboards with glimmer mist and used them as focus for the whole frame.

6)  "Love" card
Dressed up the chipboard letters with gaffer tapes, distress inks and rock candy crackle paint.

7) "Love, Honour and Cherish" layout
Misted the chipboards with glimmer mist again and lined them along different patterned papers to create patterns.

8) "Window to my Heart" layout
Used the chipboard window as a "reflection" to the window in my photo.

9) "Our Dancing Princess" layout
Our little princess performing her exam piece. Love her so much!!
Lined up the chipboard borders with the paper strips to create interest and dimension. Dressed up the chipboard ballerinas with patterned paper dress cut-outs.

10) Chipboard magnets
Love all these cute chipboard magnets. Have been hoarding these flower chipboards for a long time. Inked the butterflies and crowns with chalk inks

11) "Beauty" layout
I know I'm supposed to be sharing ten projects. But couldn't resist sharing another one. Hmm... But then again, me shared this layout before. Ha ha. Made this for my girl. Used the chipboard title raw.

CK magazine winner!!!

Last week, me checked out Piradee's blog and found that she's having a giveaway for CK magazine (Scrapbooking with Fabric and Notions). And also several other designers for the magazine also had this giveaway. Me left a comment at each of the designer's blogs without expecting to win anything.

But to my biggest surprise, I won from the blog of Kim Watson. WOW!!! So happy!!! Thank God for everything!!! DO check out Kim Watson's blog. She's very talented. Love how she incorporate so much colors and details into her layouts without cluttering.

Here's the picture of the magazine me won:

LIfe....

Life is precious... Should always treasure your loved ones.... N make up with your foes...(if any).... Cos life is so fragile...

But God is good. His mercies endure forever...

Hmm... seems quite sentimental...

Anyway, just got the news last night that Aunt Shirley had gone home to the Lord. She never woke up from the coma. God has his own timing who and when to take home... So me feel comforted that at least she didn't have to suffer.

Just want to end that God is a great comforter.. Pray that He will comfort all the family members and friends of Aunt Shirley. God bless!

Pianos.....

Going to Cristofori showroom today to view the pianos, both new and 2nd hand. Not sure how to chose a piano but for my girl's sake, got to learn... got tight budget as well. God, please help us to chose the right piano at the right price.  Oh ya, and also a piano that me won't be allergic to.. u see, me allergic to wood lacquer. My nose will experience a burning sensation whenever I smell wood lacquer and even leather varnish. Its such a painful and uncomfortable ordeal.

My favourite resting place

Been pretty stressed up these few weeks... longing to go to my favourite resting place... Sembawang Park.. Seeing the beautiful trees while lying on the picnic mat is simply heavenly... Its like looking into God's face and His beautiful creations tells of His love.

These 2 big branches are actually from 2 different trees. Notice how they get entangled together and wound around each other. Reminds me of how God united man and woman in marriage.
